Sharon Rice, Vice President, Strategy at APICS Sharon Rice is the vice president of strategy for APICS and oversees the overall strategic direction of APICS to maximize growth and profitability. Rice is responsible for the project management office and has also served as executive director of the APICS Foundation, where she oversaw the operations and success of the foundation.
About the Presentation:
During our keynote presentation, Sharon Rice, APICS Vice President of Strategy, will discuss evolving corporate supply chain capabilities and how supply chain professionals can ensure they have the competencies needed to achieve their professional and personal goals. She will share insights from APICS Supply Chain Council sponsored research and how APICS continues to contribute to both corporate and professional success through its education and certification programs.
Jill Preissner, Youth Apprenticeship Specialist, LTC Jill Preissner is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh holding a Bachelor’s of Letters and Science Degree. Jill was hired in November, 2011 at Lakeshore Technical College. The Sheboygan Area Youth Apprenticeship Program has grown from 11 students to a projected 120+ for the upcoming 2015/16 school year with 50+ area business partners and 16 local high schools under her guidance.
About the Presentation:
Youth Apprenticeship is a program, which is under the guidance of the Department of Workforce Development in the state of Wisconsin. The program allows students as juniors and/or seniors to discover a career while they are still in high school. Students must work under a trained mentors guidance for 450+ work hours, take a class which is relevant to the career each semester and earn elective credit by their high school each semester. The businesses must pay the students for their work hours, mentor the student in the skills necessary and grade the students as well as actively participate in grading conferences 3 times per year to ensure a quality experience for all involved.
The celebration will include a $250 Cash Drawing, and many exciting door prizes!
