About the Presentation:
Brad’s presentation will give a brief background on the railroad transportation industry over the last 40 years and how the Wisconsin & Southern Railroad (WSOR) and Watco Companies got their start 35 and 32 years ago respectively due to deregulation and Class I railroad spinoffs of unprofitable operations. He’ll give a brief history about the WSOR and how it helped save numerous rail lines in Wisconsin from abandonment and has tremendously grown industry along its lines in partnership with the State of Wisconsin. Likewise, Brad will talk about Watco and its tremendous growth from an industrial switching provider to a global transportation service provider.
The second part of Brad’s presentation will focus on trends Watco/WSOR has observed in the marketplace and where their company will be focusing its future growth. For instance, companies continue to outsource logistics functions which are both an obstacle and opportunity for their company. Furthermore, the importance of offering consistent service, communicating effectively, working together, and developing meaningful business relationships has never been more important in the railroad industry to grow the business.
