Topic:  History and Labor Challenges of Burger Boat Co.


​Kurk Anderson is the Director of Manufacturing for Burger Boat Company.  Kurk was born and raised in Fort Atkinson, WI.  He was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1983.  On active duty, Kurk served in California, Arizona, Louisianna, Washington D.C., Japan, Korea, and Saudi Arabia developing his skills as a logistics officer.  In the mid-90s, he transitioned to the reserves and began a second career in business.  Kurk has held positions as Director of Operations, Director of Supply Chain Management, Manager of Logistics, Manager of Interplant Planning, Project Manager Customer Synchronization business, and Continuous Improvement Manager for several Wisconsin companies.  
He has a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Naval Academy, a Master of Science from The Catholic University of America, and is currently working on a Doctor of Strategic Leadership from Liberty University.  In addition, Kurk works at Lakeshore Technical College, teaching part-time online courses and was the full-time instructor for the Supply Chain Management program for several years.  
Now retired from the Marine Corps reserve, Kurk and his wife, Paula, live in Kohler.  They have three adult children, all of whom live and work in Wisconsin.  Kurk enjoys the outdoors, working on projects around the house, travel, motorcycles, and hanging out with family.

About the Presentation:
Kurk will provide an overview of the Burger Boat Company, its origins, history, and current operations.  In addition, he will discuss current challenges facing the organization from several perspectives including attracting skilled trades and supply chain.
